All the most powerful emotions come from chaos

“You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.” Friedrich Nietzsche

“All the most powerful emotions come from chaos -fear,anger,love- especially love. Love is chaos itself. Think about it! Love makes no sense. It shakes you up and spins you around. And then, eventually, it falls apart.”
Kirsten Miller, The Eternal Ones

“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.

The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.” Marcus Aurelius

There is a rational approach to manage our expectations and prepare ourselves for the inevitable difficulties of life. Here I will be talking about the life lessons(Stoicism) from a Roman Emperor.

What exactly is Stoicism?

Stoicism is a rational approach that is centered around developing the ability to focus on what doesn't matters and what matters the most to live a meaningful life.

It has three main disciplines-

  1. Will- our attitude towards things outside our control.
  2. Action- working towards something larger than our selfish needs.
  3. Perception- seeing things for what they are.

Stoicism principles to keep calm in the chaos

  1. Time is the most important resource- Every moment is providing us an opportunity to learn and improve our lives.
  2. Emotions- Outside forces have zero say in how we feel things, our perceptions are solely responsible for it.
  3. Failure- It doesn't define you, it only improves you and help you grow and succeed.
  4. Read- Reading prepares our minds and helps us avoid silly mistakes. It should result in some action, failure, success or a lesson.
  5. Be honest with yourself- Thorugh investigation of thoughts and emotions is a ladder to success. Practise self-awareness.
  6. Priorities- Be mindful of prioritizing your goals.
  7. Avoid Procastination
  8. Mindfulness- Be ruthlessly present in every sphere of your life, be it work, or home.
  9. You can always learn from others.

Have an action plan and stay tuned for more topics.
